After a long wait, Cebu Pacific will be offering direct round-trip flights from Narita to Cebu.
The flights will be operated daily from May, and the lowest price is 20,000 yen.
The flight leaves Narita Airport at 8:55 a.m. and arrives at Cebu Mactan Airport at 1:20 p.m., so there is half a day after arrival on Cebu Island, which allows plenty of time to plan for sightseeing and travel around the island.
The flight to Narita Airport at 2:20 a.m. is a bit halfway, but it has the advantage of arriving at 8:10 a.m., so you can return home before noon. Last year, when I flew back to Japan via Busan, I flew out of Cebu Island at 2:00 a.m. and returned home a little before 5:00 p.m., so it is definitely better than that.
Above all, it is nice to know that the round-trip fare is less than 50,000 yen and the direct flight takes only about 5 hours.
I hope that more people from Japan will visit Cebu and that there will be more exchanges between Cebu Islanders and Japanese.
I am most happy that Cebu Pacific's daily nonstop flights make me feel that Cebu Island is now as close as it was before the Corona disaster.
If possible, I would be even happier if a Japanese LCC would also fly there like Vanilla Air, which used to have daily direct flights.
This will make it easier for my wife to go back home twice a year to coincide with the children's birthdays.
