Open a Philippine securities account

In my blog of July 18, I wrote about considering investing in Philippine stocks. A month and a half later, I finally made up my mind and opened an account with a Philippine brokerage firm. It is my bad habit that everything takes time.

I chose AB Securities as my brokerage firm. The reason is that AB Securities is the most introduced brokerage on YouTube and blogs, and it is possible to open an account on the Internet with low trading commissions.
The account can be opened on the AB Securities website. Although the website is in English, it is not difficult to input the information because you can use DeepL to translate the difficult parts into Japanese.

However, there were also detailed questions on occupation, source of money, income, amount of financial assets, etc., perhaps to prevent money laundering since it is a stock trade.
I registered as a retired person, but I had to enter information about the company I worked for before I retired.

As required documents, foreigners must attach three written signatures in the same typeface as the passport. A photograph of the passport only. A photo of the person holding the passport. And a video of the person himself/herself taken with a web camera.
In Japan, when opening an account on the Internet, a photo ID (driver's license or my number card) is attached when opening an account, so the procedure is not much different. The only difference is that you need to send a video of yourself taken with a web camera.

After registration, I received an email asking me to transfer 10,000 pesos as a deposit to my AB Securities account. 90 days later, if the money is not transferred within 90 days, I will have to register anew.

We immediately sent the money from BDO Remit and registered the remittance details and remittance remittance invoice (remittance information from BDO Remit) in the deposit alert on the website. At the same time, the same information was sent by e-mail.

I believe the procedure is now complete.
Once you receive an email from AB Securities confirming your payment, you will be able to buy and sell shares of Philippine listed companies.

I have no experience investing in stocks, although I buy mutual fund products every month within the limits of my general NISA. I will try to gain experience little by little, buying stocks at 10,000 pesos each month.

By the way, my weight this morning was 68.4 kilograms.
