Only my wife gets a booster dose of corona vaccine.

Yesterday my wife received the third dose (booster) of the new corona vaccine.
The first and second vaccinations were given at a group vaccination site, but from the third and later vaccinations can be given at designated hospitals in the city.
Although it was more convenient than before, it took some effort to choose a hospital that matched my wife's days off because each hospital specified the days and times when vaccinations could be given.

I went to the Yamamura Clinic in front of Ryukesaki-shi Station at the designated 11:45 a.m. and the inoculation was completed at 11:52 a.m. There was a 15-minute waiting period after the inoculation, so I left the hospital at 12:07 pm.

The entry requirements for the Philippines have been eased considerably, and my wife, who has received her third vaccination, can return home without restrictions since she no longer needs to prove negative for the new corona.

The government's campaign has been effective, and the percentage of people who have been vaccinated for the third time has also increased considerably.

The table above shows the vaccination status as of May 30, as published on the website of the Prime Minister's Office.

This shows that nearly 60% of the population has been vaccinated for the third time, and when limited to those aged 65 and older, almost 90% have been vaccinated. By prefecture, Akita Prefecture has the highest vaccination rate at 68.7%, while Okinawa Prefecture has the lowest at 43.6%.
Ibaraki Prefecture is slightly above the national average at 62.9%.
By age group, the national average for my wife's age in the 30s is 44.7%, and 49.1% for Ibaraki Prefecture. The national average for my age of 65-69 years is 82.0%, and 83.4% for Ibaraki Prefecture.

The data show that a good percentage of people are receiving their third dose of vaccine.
In particular, the vaccination rate is abnormally high among those over 65 years old. My impression is that this is an astonishingly high rate.

As I have written before in this blog, I have no intention of getting the third dose of vaccine.
That said, I may do so by the end of August if I need the negative certification that is imposed on those who have not been vaccinated three times at the time of my planned trip to the Philippines in September.
So I am hoping that the entry restrictions will be removed as soon as possible.
