My wife, I'm sorry.

My wife wanted to get a car license, so we went to the Ibaraki Prefecture Car License Center.
I left home at 6:40 a.m. and took the train to Mito. From Mito Station, we took the Kanto Railway bus to the license center, which took two hours including transfers. It is a bit far.

My wife intends to take her provisional license to her full license without going to a driving school, so she will have to take a few more tests.

In fact, my wife would prefer to go to a driving school to get her license, but unfortunately, there are no accredited driving schools in the neighborhood that offer English lessons. A good automatic speech translator would be a good solution, but for some reason it is not widely available.
Only the paper test for the car license can be taken in several languages, but if the difficult practical test is not available in multiple languages, it is a one-sided problem.

Since this was my first time going to the automobile license center, I checked the website the day before to see what I needed to bring.

It says you need a driver's license, ID, and a photo.
I thought it was strange that it said "driver's license" when I was about to get a driver's license, but I figured it would be necessary if I wanted to get an advanced license, so I told my wife to just take two photos.

When I went to the license center, they said they needed my wife's certificate of residence. They said it is also mentioned on their website, so I went home to check and sure enough, it is written in the annotations.

My wife has a my number card and can get it at a convenience store, but she does not remember the password. At first, she entered the password she vaguely remembered at a Family Mart near the license center, but it was wrong.
So, we are at a loss.

So we had to go home without being able to accept the exam.
I regret that I was careless and did something bad to my wife. My wife, I am sorry.

I only got the application form, so I went home, looked up the password for my number card, and went to Family Mart at Ryukesaki Station to get a resident card and complete the application form.

Still, why do they need a certificate of residence when the residence certificate also includes the address?
