The new school year in Philippine public schools will begin next week.
Face-to-face classes had started around June, but it seems that regular classes will finally begin in the new school year.
In the Philippines, registration is required to enroll in a school, and the newspaper reported that registration, which began on July 25, reached 9.19 million in one week. This includes 4.28 million in elementary schools, 2.97 million in junior high schools, 1.38 million in senior high schools, and 600,000 in kindergartens.
The total public school enrollment is now at 21 million students, but apparently there are still 7 million unenrolled students.
Among the unregistered students, it seems that a large number of them are those who wish to transfer from private schools to public schools. We have no intention of moving the August 22 deadline, so please register as soon as possible," said a spokesman for the Ministry of Education.
Still, it is indeed the Philippines that has 28 million children and students attending public schools.
Japan has 6.22 million elementary school students, 3.21 million elementary school students, and 3.09 million high school students, for a total of 12.52 million. Since Japan has a larger population than the Philippines, these figures clearly show that the Philippines is a country with a large number of young people.
Our children start school next Monday, so I will be sending 5,000 pesos more than usual (my wife will pay this amount).
It will be hard to make up for two years of absence from school, but I hope they will enjoy their school life with "play hard, learn hard".
