One of the things Filipinos love to do is to take pictures of themselves, or so-called selfies. My wife is not your average Filipina, she's punctual and is more of a quiet type, I think. But when it comes to taking selfies, she loves it. On the contrary, I'm not a big fan of having my picture taken, so I don't take many pictures of myself except for proof photos.
Almost all of my travels are scenic photos, so I rarely have any evidence that I've really been there. The exception is after I went to Cebu after I started thinking about marrying my wife, I started to take pictures of us together. That's because I had to submit a few of those photos along with other documents to the immigration office to prove that it was not a fake marriage when I got my wife's entry visa.
After the visa was approved, we don't take pictures together anymore. But my wife loves to be photographed, so when we go out together, I'm the one who takes her picture.
When I went to Tokyo Sky Tree recently, I took photos and videos to meet my wife's request. Recently, my wife started posting on Youtube and surprisingly, she has nearly 2,000 subscribers, so the demands on the photographer are getting tougher and tougher.
So, unless I get fired, I will continue to hone my skills as my wife's personal photographer for the time being.
