Throwback from the Mayor

Located in downtown Cebu City, Colon Street was the first street paved in Cebu in the late 16th century, and is a busy place for people and cars day and night.

I heard that an uncle was performing a statue performance (apparently called a statuette) on this street, which was spread on Youtube and became a hot topic.
He has three children with his divorced wife, and she is raising them.
He is unemployed, but he wanted to give money to his children, so he came up with the idea of statues.

However, I cannot dress elaborately because I do not have enough money. Moreover, I can only use paints that I have on hand to paint my body. So the color changes from blue to brown depending on the day.
Performing under the scorching sun is hard work, and the exhaust fumes from the jeepneys, buses, and cars are quite exhausting. I don't think I would have been able to stand for more than 30 minutes.

The Sun-Star reported that the mayor of Mandaue City (a city next to Cebu City), where this uncle lives, invited him to the city hall and gave him 30,000 pesos in cash, and also promised to introduce him to a job, although it is not clear whether he saw it or not.
(addendum) According to SunStar Cebu on April 4, the man was hired as a security guard at a social welfare facility in Mandaue City.

I remember the first time I saw a bronze statue perform was at Circular Quay in Sydney. I watched it for a while and was impressed that it didn't move an inch.
If the statuette's uncle gets a job through the mayor's introduction, we won't be able to see the performance on Colon Street anymore. I feel a little sad to think that he has become so famous.
