Cavities treated or repaired?

I had been going to the dentist for several months.
I was biting into a chicken wing when I was forced to go to the dentist because the lower part of my front tooth, which I had treated a long time ago, was chipped.

I had no plans to have other teeth treated, but I was told that I had a cavity in a tooth I had previously treated, so I reluctantly decided to go back.
Not many people like to go to the dentist. I only go to the dentist's office when a treated part is chipped or a filling comes off, as in this case.

Now I use anesthesia injections when I treat them, so it doesn't hurt, but it still makes my body tense.

By the way, when I say "dental care," I think it would be more fitting to call it dental repair. Because it doesn't make the cavity better.

All they do is cut away the decayed part of the tooth and then fill it. Looking at the Internet, it seems that the tools for treatment have advanced, but what they are doing has not changed for decades.

Of course, periodontal disease can be cured, so I think it can be called treatment.

There are several types of fillings, and if you are concerned about appearance, there is a type called composite resin, which is made of white plastic. However, it is said to be prone to cracking and discoloration.
Silver fillings metal inlays last longer but are not suitable for people with metal allergies. These are the two materials covered by insurance.

I have had to pay for ceramic, hybrid ceramic inlays, and gold teeth, but they are expensive.
I decided to get silver teeth because I am too old and I am not allergic to metal.

The first time, the cavity was cut and molded, and the second time, a filling was placed and the procedure was completed. So, I went to the hospital for several months.

They wanted me to come back in 4 months. I am thinking about what to do. I'm thinking I could go once every 6 months or so for a teeth cleaning.
