Travel in Kumamoto and Fukuoka Part 2: Warming up old friendships

After leaving Kusasenri, I crossed the Aso Choyo Bridge and returned the rental car safely to the Toyota Rental Car Kumamoto Airport Branch via Otsu Town (I have a gold license, but I've been driving it only once a year recently, so I was worried. ) We took a bus from the airport to Kumamoto City.

I remembered that it was an airport limousine bus before, but this time we took a regular shared bus. It was a cheap bus from the airport to Michimachi-suji.

This time we stayed at the Nikko Hotel in both Kumamoto and Fukuoka. The Hotel Nikko Kumamoto is located across from Tsuruya Department Store and adjacent to the Kamidori and Shimodori arcades, making it a convenient place to stay.

The Moomin exhibition was being held at the Kumamoto City Museum of Contemporary Art next door. I was a little curious about it, but I didn't want to see it this time.

Although it is a small room of 21㎡, there is a bench by the window and it is very convenient. The view to Mt. Aso is also good. Aso. You can see Kumamoto Castle in the room on the opposite side.

It was also nice to have my wife's favorite Nespresso machine, which was also in the Swiss Hotel in Singapore where we stayed on our honeymoon.

I left the house early in the morning, so I took a short break until 6:45 p.m. when I met up with my friends.

I met up with two friends in the hotel lobby and my wife headed to Hinomaru Kitchen with me.

There are two types of regional coupons for this GO TO Travel: coupons and electronic coupons, and JAL's dynamic packages are electronic coupons only. On the other hand, most of the stores that accept coupons are paper coupons. In addition, the coupons can only be used after 3:00 p.m. on the day of the tour, which is not very convenient for us to use.

That's why we asked our friend to look for a place where we could use electronic coupons in advance. Due to the influence of the new corona, he said he would have preferred to go to a restaurant near Kamidori, but there were few places that could accept electronic coupons, and we apologized for the difficulty in choosing a restaurant.

We were chosen to go to Hinomaru Kitchen Marche store. We enjoyed the food made with local ingredients from Kumamoto.
The sausages and roast beef were all Kumamoto ingredients, and the sausages and roast beef were delicious. The peanut tofu with pickled kibinago was also good.

Two of my friends are juniors in a university club. So it's been over 40 years since we first met. Apart from exchanging New Year's greeting cards, we only see each other once in a while at alumni reunions and the like, but we are good friends and had a good time for the first time in a long time.

Friends, thank you for taking the time, despite being under the new Coronavirus!
