If a person tests positive in the workplace, the people around him or her will also be tested, and if they test positive, they will not be allowed to work, which will make it difficult for them to perform their jobs. This has a significant impact on police and fire departments.
Apparently there were several positive results at the plant where my wife works, and on Monday (August 29) everyone was instructed to get tested. I was told that test kits were available over the counter, so I called the local drugstore, Wellsia, and was told that they had test kits that came in sets of five for about 6,600 yen. Since we did not need five sets, my wife consulted with the company and they agreed to bring one set to the station in the evening (my wife was on her day off). (My wife was on her day off).
My wife immediately opened the test kit and started the test while checking how to do the test on YouTube.
The test took about 20 minutes. The result was negative. I was relieved because if my wife tested positive, there was a good chance that I was infected too. However, I myself don't mind if it is positive because I think it is no different from a cold.
If the government had been more speedy in its decision making, we would not have had to go through this inspection.
