I've been buying a lot of audio stuff lately.
Following the purchase of monitor speakers for my PC, I recently bought two echo studio smart speakers from Amazon.
And this time, I ordered an AKG C214.
Each of them has its own reason for purchase, but the reason for this microphone purchase is that the suspension holder of the AKGc3000B that I have been using has broken.
I tried to repair it, but the weight of the microphone was too much for me to bear, so I decided to buy just the holder, but it cost 8,000 yen.
It's like car parts, when you buy a product it's like an extra, but when you buy a single item it's expensive.
When I looked up the AKG C214 microphone, I found that it was reasonably priced and had the same mic holder as the broken one, so I could use it with the C3000B.
I had accumulated some Amazon points, so I decided to take the plunge and buy one.
This AKG microphone has a retro-style design that reminds me of a microphone I used to adore.
I've always wanted a mic like this.
The C3000B that I had so far had a slightly metallic and crunchy sound in the high frequency range, and when I cut the high frequency range using the equalizer on the mixer, the sound was just right.
AKG microphones in general are characterized by their high frequency range. They are ideal for recording acoustic guitars, for example, and can produce a chilling sound.
This is an AKG microphone with a good reputation in studio recording, so I'm sure it won't go wrong, but I won't know until I actually buy it.
Looking at the internet and YouTube, it seemed to have a softer sound compared to the C3000B, so after some hesitation, I decided to buy it.
When I recorded it today and compared it to the C3000B, there was no metallic sound in the high frequency range, and the overall sound was fuller.
It seems to suit my voice quality.
Now that I have everything I need for audio, I think I'll stop shopping for a while and take my time getting used to it.
