The laptop I used to use was mainly at workplace. Of course, I have the company's computer on my desk, but the security is so tight that I can't see anything related to my blog posts on the Internet when I try to do research. If I want to do general business, it's okay, but it's very inconvenient to open a website with wordpress or to do research on new business.
So that, I was also using my personal laptop at office, but when I brought it home and I told my wife she could use it freely, it became my wife's exclusive machine that became a YouTuber.
I thought I could get by with my smart phone for research at the company, but when I decided to create a new e-learning program for business, I had to have my own laptop to do so. Smartphones are convenient, but they are not easy to use for making something. That's why I decided to buy a new computer.
The first time I bought my first computer was in 1998 when windows 98 was released and it was a NEC desktop PC 40/45D. I don't remember the exact price, but I think it was over 300,000 yen.
In 2002, I bought a NEC laptop Lavie LL5503D (OS: windows 2000) for about 170,000 yen. 2005, I bought my third PC EPSON MT8000 for about 180,000 yen (OS: windows XP) including the display, etc. In 2014, I bought a Dell notebook PC Inspiron 15 33308 (OS is windows 8).In 2016 I bought a Lenovo desktop with windows 10. And this time I bought my sixth Dell Inspiron 14 5490. priced at 63,000 yen excluding tax on Amazon.
Performance has improved dramatically over the past 22 years, and prices have become much cheaper. In terms of the weight of the laptop, NEC's LL5503D weighs 3.5kg, while this Dell PC weighs 1.42kg, 2kg less. Furthermore, I think it used to take half a day to set up a new computer before I could use it, but this time it took less than 15 minutes. I think it has become very convenient.
I'm going to start doing new things with this computer in the future.
